Remove buildup on my hair?

i recently cut my hair really short, and realized that towards my roots my hairs are rough with white dandruff-looking things on them. i've been using head and shoulders, and i think it may have built up. i tried to use dishwashing soap to get it out but it's not coming out at all. do i need a clarifying shampoo? are there any home remedies?

yes, you need a clarifying shampoo and perhaps a good conditioner after your recent trist with dishwashing soap which is INCREDIBLY bad for your hair. most brands have clarifying shampoo, some are more harsh than others and they all react differently to different peoples hair. so you may have to try a few out before you find the one that fits you. Also you might want to get a hand held scalp scrubber which can help with dandruff and stimulate bloodflow to the scalp which improves hair health. In any case lay off the dish soap and good luck with you hair.

ok i had the same problem over the summer, i was on a cruise ship and i went to a spa specialist or whatever. they gave me a treatment and told me i can do this at home just as easily. all you do ok well first of all brush your hair. duh lol ok then put it into sections and brush shampoo into the roots of your dry hair. then you wait ten mintues while hair drying it than wash it. :] it works great. :] hope i helped.

we use lemon juice, u can buy a bottle of it at walmart and its not too expensive, then you rinse ur hair w/ the juice, its not sticky, and put a towel on it and leave it sit for 20-30 min, and then wash your hair normally and there ya go!

if you mix half water and half vinegar (doesnt matter which type) into a spray bottle and put it in your hair,, that works great.

just spray it in after you shampoo and before you condition.

let is sit for a few minutes..

and then rinse and condition as you usually would
