Does anyone know if the chemical hair straighteners for black women's curly hair can be used on a white women's wavy red hair? It is a different texture than black hair but it's pretty wavy just the same. I get tired of using a flat iron and thought I could save money by doing it at home.
Hair Straightener Question?
They have a product for white women's hair to straighten it. I used it and it worked GREAT! It is available at any local drug store/grocery store.
Hair Straightener Question?
it probably wont straiten it as perfect as a flat iron would, but im sure that it would still straiten it. if it doesnt work you can always return it too and if you want to be sure you could call a hair salon and ask them because who would know better than one of them?

Hair Straightener Question?
I think that you should just use a straightner for your type of hair because you never know what can go wrong.
Hair Straightener Question?
There is a high potential for damage if you get your hair chemically straightened. The risk is greater than the reward, as hair breakage, hair thinning, a lack of hair growth, scalp irritation/damage, and hair loss are possible if the process doesn't work well. I would either stick to the flat iron or the curly hair. Wavy hair is beautiful if you know how to make it beautiful; there are many hair products that tame wave and curl so it looks its best.
Hair Straightener Question?
I would definitely go to a professional salon to get it done. The chemicals you buy over-the-counter are much harsher and you may not get the results you want.
Having two hairdressers in the family, I know from their "do-it-yourself horror stories", that unless you really know what you are doing, it is worth the time and money to have it professionally done.
Best of luck,
Mon :-)
