Difference between 2 races hair? i dont understand why so different!?

I have always wondered why a couple races have different hair? why is that? and please just because i said the word race do not assume i am racist..it always happens..just a question..like a lot of white people we got straight hair, or fuzzy, curley, all kinds, then with african americans i notice that not much "real hair" all weaves..does the hair not grow? i dont understand. I like the weaves but i have never seen them with long nice hair like that..its alway short and frizzy...can someone explain why that is without being rude to me?

Not all african americans with long hair have weave it it. Theres just a good chance. Since africans originated in africa where its really hot, the hair is usually dry from all of the heat. Thats why african americans have frizzy hair. Its genetic. Im not sure why its short, but I know that hair is kept short in africa because of the heat and its been like that throughout time so that might have something to do with it. Also most black women find short hair easier to deal with. Many black women have nice and long hair, its just hard to tell the difference between that and weave. Other races have longer and silkier hair because their ancestor's hair didnt have to stand up to african heat for centuries. Black people are also black because it was an adaptation to all of the heat (so I heard in science class). Where our ancestors are from is kind of the awnser to this question.

Edit: Our hair has more oils just because of where our ancestors are from. I guess since in africa, hair gets dried out more so the body just automaticaly produces extra oils to make up for the lost ones. Hope I could help.

of the heat. Its genetic. So that means that even if you were born in

Germany and moved to Africa for 20 years, your hair texture will not

dramatically change. The dry hair was an adaptation that took hundreds of

thousands of years. Its just like africans having dark skin. Africans

have dark skin because fair skin burns easily. So over hundreds of years,

the skin started to get darker so it wouldnt burn so easily. Then it

started to get worked into the african's genes. Im not sure about the

short hair thing though. It might be just because most african americans

prefer to have short hair.

i've noticed that too, but maybe african americans don't like their hair and they get it cut real short and they all get weaves, but i know some people that are african american and they have longish hair, and i can tell that it is real. they just keep it in one long braid.

Kimmy, it would grow long if they left to ...there is alot more oils in the hair of black and dark people, their hair shaft is much thicker and stronger than a white persons or lighter skinned people. This is the main difference..

Black people can grow real hair, only it's very thick, and curly, but it can be made straight with a perm, and other processes.

I think it's just easier to maintain weaves for black people who want longer straighter hair.

African American peoples hair do grow. It depends the person. It also depends on the texture of hair, if it is managed properly, if they have mixed hair. Some black people do have long natural hair. White people have different texture hair also.
