How often to wash hair?

i'm mixed (puerto-rican and white) and have thick curly hair. everybody says it's best to wash my hair every other day, but i straighten my hair and it gets annoying spending an hour every other day straightening my hair. so my question to you is how often should i wash my hair?

I here ya... that's exactly how it is with my hair. I decided three days is what I can handle, because of the straightening- after blow drying my hair... it's important that you don't use hairspray or any of that sort, otherwise you have to wash your hair every day. Make sure to use products that don't flake, but protect your hair.

Well I believe that you should wash it every other day. I understand that you're mixed with white and peurto rican. I say every other day because, if you wash it everyday; you'll wash the oils and vitamins out of it. You're hair needs those to stay strong and healthy. You should use Sauve 2 in one shampoo and conditioner. It really helps. I peurto rican and black thats why I responded to your qeustion. Hope it helps !!!

you should wash your hair when it feels dirty, the more products like wax and creams you put in your hair the quicker it will become dirty as they act as a dust magnet collecting any dust particles in the atmosphere. with your type of hair you should not be washing it other every day as curly hair has not a lot of natural oils along the hair shaft so washing it you are only washing off the oils so it becomes very dry and then you have to put more products on to make it feel and look not dry.
