How exactly do you twist little girls' hair?

My daughters are white and have fine hair that slips. How do I go about twisting their hair so that it looks nice and stays in place during the school day?

section off what you want to be twisted and pin all other hair away.

apply wax or pomade to the hair (just a little dab).

comb straight up.

lay chopstick down between partings and wrap the hair one good time (maybe 2) and keep twisting as you remove chopstick.

pin or elastic in place. if using elastics, you can wrap a piece or hair around the elastic and use hairpins to hold. (use i hairpin for 2 elastics and hide the pin under the rest of the hair. too cute)

another super cute thing to do with fine children's hair is this:

section off the fringe/bang area. comb straight up and section into 2 pieces. tie like you would your shoe except do one side over 2 times and the other side under 1 time. (or 2 times under and 1 time over, depending on how you tie.) pull like you do shoestrings.

do it a couple of times and you'll get the hang of it. it's perfect for growing out bangs! my neices are from 7 to 16 and they all do it. my stepdaughter who is 24 does it. and so does her 6 year old stepdaughter. so easy and super cute.

Have them take a shower with shampoo and without conditioner, it will make the hair more rough.
