Today my husband's aunt (who is a hairdresser) highlighted my hair with bleach. You can see in my picture what my original hair color is. Well, she pulled too much hair through the cap holes, and my hair is PLATINUM, even WHITE at my bangs area. I didn't realize how bad it was until I'd blown it dry and actually started to fix it. I am mortified, and I can't call her and ask her for advice, because I don't want to hurt her feelings. My hair is literally the color of Marilyn Monroe's, Gwen Stefani,....you get the idea. I don't even want to leave my house, and with the holidays going on, there's no salons to go to.
My question: I HAVE to do something tomorrow and my thought was to purchase a kit from Wal-Mart and darken it with the tint. Is this going to cause severe damage to my hair? Hair dressers out there--help please!

You need to get low lights in a color near your natural color where you are now platinum. Do you have a friend who could help you? If not , go to a hairstylist (do you have a beauty school in your area...MUCH less expensive!!)

Go see a trusted professional. If you don't know one, ask a friend with great color hair.
Don't try to fix your self - you will probably make it worse!

sadly i am no hairstylist. but i might be able to help. I have heard that if you darken your hair it will nurish it but lightening it will do the opposite. anywho, if you go to walmart there are kits were you can dye our hair but it isn't permanent and will come out after so man washes. so you won't have to do anthing drastic or permanent and ou can go back to the stylist later. i hope this helps i would be horrified too. don't worry!

You need to go and have a color fix done by a professional. This will cost a lot of money and at least 4-6 hours to fix. Don't try this at home!!!

Try a toner and a developer (like a vol. 20 - it will say vol. 40 but do not use it on platinum... your hair will break off)... it will yellow up the platinum parts. :) Go to Sally's Beauty Store... that's where I go. Good Luck.
BTW - hair dye from store will not work. It will turn your hair weird colors or simple fade out... color will not normally absorb in bleached hair. DO A TONER!!

You need a toner, and if this woman is a hair stylist she won't get her feelings hurt if you just tell her that it's more than you wanted and you need to darken it and tone it down. People who do hair are not upset by this. I'm not sure if you can buy something over the counter to do what you want. If she is a professional she Will have products to accomplish what you want done.

well, the bleach destroys your hair! i would just dye it a different color! either way it'll probably look better than white hair!
