I bleached my hair to a yellowy-white three days ago. I did this so I could re-dye over it with a bright colour, such as red. Now my friend tells me that if I dye my hair red over the top, it will either turn orange or just fall out. Can anyone help? %26gt;%26lt;

Auburn, Coppery red, or even Manic Panic will come out MUCH better (read more red) now that you've dones this. Red is the largest color molecule. After you've colored it red, to help lock in the red with your hair follicles, do THIS. It sounds weird but it works. If you're over 21 pour a glass of wine (red or white doesn't matter) over your hair. If you are under 21 pour a Sprite or 7up over your hair. They'll do the same thing, which is help preserve your new hair color..

It will not fall out but it may not turn out the color you wish. Just do a strand test first and see if you like the color. They recommend waiting for approx 5 days after dying it to dye it agai, but you can do it. As long as you do a strand test you'll be fine. from what i have seen, you strip out all the color of your hair to dye it another color. so you should be able to do it if your hair is white or colorless. say you have brown hair and want it blond...you have to strip out ALL of the brown to retint it to blond

It will look shocking unless you go for a colour with a dark base like a chocolate brown or black. I would let your hair rest for now. Why not apply a really good toner and leave it the way it is instead? A great one is Shwardzkopf Live Colour Silver Toner. I use that one often.

Your friend is pretty right. if you lifted the color a lot than it may turn orange, depending on the color it is now. go to a beauty supply place and ask them which would be the best color to use to get the red, some have a purple base to them so keep that in mind. you really should wait over a week, because the bleach is really harsh on your hair. If you do it sooner, find something gentle on your hair and maybe you can do a small test patch or cut some hair to try it first to be safe.

LOL... been there done that... Its going to turn bright orange. your best bet is to go to a salon. They have special ways of making it not turn orange.

Just to let you know a small tid bit about dying your hair red... Its extremely hard to keep it red, even if you get it to come out red it will fade to orange within about a week or two. Red is the smallest dye molecule so it doesnt stick as well as other dye's.

Make sure your red color has some brown in it. Red fades to pink easily and quickly. Have a bit of brown in it... it will last much longer.

Did you not seek advice from your hair stylist before your bleached? Bleaching followed by tyeing will definitely stressed your hair causing them to drop and most probably looks try. I suggest you leave the hair alone until they have outgrown the bleached part and then decide what you want to do next. Try to avoid tyeing your hair for atleast 6 months.

When you go in to get your hair cut and u wanna keep it long, just ask them to give you long layers, that way you can keep your side bangs too. Fried Hair?

I just bleached my hair from black to white-ish orange. Then dyed it purple, after dyeing it purple it started frizzing then basically falling out(luckily i only dyed the ends) How should i take care of it?

So i wanted to go blonde (i had dark reddish brown hair) and the woman at the salon said I could do that by putting highlights close together throughout my hair. Im hair stupid so i figured that would be okay. As I sit here I now have white streakes amongst my brown hair. NOT BLONDE!! your hairdresser most likely used bleach to get the highlights white. dying over bleach is only going to temporarily fix the problem , the dye will eventually wash out and fade. i suggest going back to your salon as they will fix it as best they can with minimal damage to your hair.

Nail polish remover will take care of almost anything. If the walls have paint, it will strip that off too, so don't scrub too hard. Just put some polish remover on a cotton ball and wipe lightly until the hair dye comes out. Try not to strip the paint.

Ok. So i know how to mix it and everything. Then I can wrap my hair up to keep it from dripping. Should I wear it overnight since all I want is Highlights? or should I just wear it for like and hour in the morning? Answer-

If you want it to be a very bright color I would suggest overnight. It will be lighter if done for only an hour, so it's just really the look you want les time less color, more time more color.

Question-

Then can you blow it dry or does it have to air dry?

Answer -

Either way will be fine. You can even curl or flat iorn over it if you wish.

And am I allowed to wash it like i normally would without it coming out?

Answer-

No, you will want to rince with Hot water then cold... Hot and THEN cold, hot water first because it locks in the color. No shampoo. Then condition. Shampoo will make it lose color.

Can I still wear a white shirt, cuz my school unifrom is a white shirt, and since my hair is almost half way down my back....will it rub and stain my shirt?

Answer- White will not be a good idea. If you sweat or get wet in any way the color will still run. So think about wearing a dark color jacket or sweater over your white shirt if possible.

Oh and I I wash it with toothpaste to get it out will it bleach my actual hair?

Answer-

No toothpaste won't bleach your natural hair. But you don't need toothpaste. All you need is a good shampooing and it will come out. Since you havn't bleached your hair and you are using the Kool aid on your natural color it will wash out in one try.

First, do not panic. Try washing it out immediately;;when you read this sentence;;immediately. Then, if it doesn't work try telling a parent or go buy a good quality brand. Like loreal,, try a color you think would go with your face shape, etc. Choose a color you think if it goes wrong, it would still look good on your hair.

They would have told you from the start that if you bleached your hair white then you will need to slowly going back to black.....I would recommend a professional, but if you don't have the cash flow I would say to use a rinse that is dark brown or reddish brown to get your hair back to a "normal color"

You have to read the base color some blacks have a violet base and others have a blue base so that means that if your hair is extremely light it can end up either green or purple. It looks like you got the purple.

I wouldn't try dying it anymore for a while. It can really damage your hair if you over process it. My best advice is to just suck it up and make the best of it for a while. Tell people you did it on purpose for New Years Eve. Nobody has to know but you and us. See it for the funny story it is. One day, you can look back and laugh. Just to let you know, I colored my hair just a couple days apart once a long time ago and a whole bunch of it fell out of my head, that's how I know it's not a good idea to color it too much too close together. I wouldnt of bleached it because it is difficult for light/white hair to then go to black. It was too much for it too take. Alot of black color hair product have a blue or purple tint too them. Bleach is only usually used if you want to go blond or a crazy color.

I wouldnt try to fix it because you hair will become overprocessed and may start to fall out. I would contact or see a hair professional to see what they can do. You may end up having to have that color for awhile until it is safe to try a hair color again

my mom actually had this happen to her also, but her hair turned out plum purple. the best thing to do is to go to a haistyler and dye it a diffrent color. my mom did that and it turned out to be fine. so just experiment and have fun :)

I suggest you buy a mousse and/or toner that is dark auburn red, and apply that. That should make it a weird brown that at least isn't violet, without processing your hair any more. That'll at least get you to the colorist with something decent.

If you don't go to a colorist, I suggest putting a dark auburn "temporary" dye (lasts 3 weeks or so), letting it dry a day, then applying a very dark brown "temporary" dye.

I once bleached my hair from black dye to near white with a home kit - 3 kits, 3 bleachings, it was FRIED - then after about a month I dyed back to black with 2 kits (auburn, let dry; then black). It worked pretty well although the black faded fast and my hair was beyond fried, it didn't fall out or anything and it did go all the way to black with just the red in between step. The "temporary" dyes are a lot less harsh, but you should let your scalp rest if you can, by using a mousse or toner for a while, and avoid applying products directly to your scalp.

Well Hun, I hate to be the barer of bad news but you need to go see a professional. Coloring your hair is something that can easily get into some strange areas, especially when it has been bleached. You will most likely need to get the color stripped out (which only a professional can do) and probably get it treated for over processing. Your hair turned the color it did because you were placing Raven Black dye on white hair. If you look at the color of the dye you will see it is the same color as your hair is now. Just be glad you didn閳ユ獩 go bright red because your hair would be hot pink! Don閳ユ獩, I repeat, DON閳ユ紙 try dying it again with out a professional閳ユ獨 help in a well respected salon. You could end up doing more damage to your hair which in extreme cases can cause it to break off or fall out. You might have to get some of it cut too to take off the seriously damaged ends. Look for some cute short cuts just in case. I wish you the best of luck and hope it turns out well before your back to school.

i would suggest not using any more permanent dye. you could use clairol loving care in brown which would tone the blue down. i have this problem (but with some grays) i am just a bit (lol) too old for purple hair!

I think you should dye it what you want. But just remember if you are going to be graduating soon and going for job/college interviews that you may want to use discretion when selecting colors. Believe it or not, people do make decisions based on appearance. Once you have the job/acceptance letter, then go ahead and dye it blue. I have mine dyed brown with red-red streaks, and I've only gotten compliments. I change my hair color every two months -- once you do this for a while, people get used to it and don't talk so much.

If you want it to be a very bright color I would suggest overnight. It will be lighter if done for only an hour, so it's just really the look you want les time less color, more time more color.

Either way will be fine. You can even curl or flat iorn over it if you wish.

No, you will want to rince with Hot water then cold... Hot and THEN cold, hot water first because it locks in the color. No shampoo. Then condition. Shampoo will make it lose color.

Answer- White will not be a good idea. If you sweat or get wet in any way the color will still run. So think about wearing a dark color jacket or sweater over your white shirt if possible.

No toothpaste won't bleach your natural hair. But you don't need toothpaste. All you need is a good shampooing and it will come out. Since you havn't bleached your hair and you are using the Kool aid on your natural color it will wash out in one try.

Do you mean breed? Most likely a domestic short hair. I've had 2 white cats with blue eyes and they were not deaf. You really need to take the poor thing to a vet so it can get checked out for parasites and disease. If you can't afford it, find a cat rescue group to take it.

BTW..most kittens have blue eyes when they are very young so there is no guarantee they will stay blue.

Without seeing you in person the best advice I can give is to put extension in first to see if you like it or not. You can use more than one color as well. This way if you hair is not in the best condition to accept the bleach you wont cause any damage to your hair.

I actually answered a question similar to this today, where someone asked about people who "look Jewish". You know, it's funny, I'm pretty sure there are folks out there who are convinced that Jews have curly hair rather than straight hair (never met a guy with a Jewfro?) No, The hair wasn't what was causing the odor.

Shaving helped because when you sweat, the hair helped to trap the sweat in.

If you aren't interested in continuing to shave, try this.

Sleep without underwear or shorts, allowing your vagina to breath, underwear can trap sweat and cause bacteria.

Also, change your underwear after every shower, in addition make sure when you shower (and shower often) that you are washing even your most sensitive areas, wash with luke warm water, a wash cloth, and mild soap, don't scrub hard, just make sure you are being the most hygenic you can.

Also, when you go to the bathroom, make sure you are being hygenic, not just washing your hands, but wiping correctly, and not allowing a yeast infection to occur.

(and yes, shaving does help alleviate the smell because hair does harbor (not border) bacteria that causes odor)

You won't stop sweating, that comes from the pours on you skin.

Hey, recently... no, more like since the past 3 years, i spiked my hair on occasions, by using my dad's hair gel. You know, the ones that leave white powdery dots on your hair. but, now i'd like to buy my own efficient products that can leave my hair looking good,

So... do any of you in WA, or just US, know any good hairspray products and/or gel products? I really need assistance... Help Please? and, I don't have a job yet so try to keep the price neutral-ish. I doubt i can get, like $50 gel, haha.

Well i use both of Gatsby and Got2be,

Got2be spiking glue, will make it look like a gel look/out of the shower, only if u dampen ur hair, if u want it to look less of that "wet look" apply it when ur hair is dry. I wouldnt keep it in ur hair overnight, or over 10 hours, because it starts to cause my hair to flake up if i move it and scratch it, so make sure u wash it good when u shower and shampoo really good if u notice build up. It has a sweet scent. You can get it at walmart, walgreens i got mine around 5 bucks.

Gatsby is this japanese product it has a clay and a wax/moving rubber. Ive only use the moving rubber, i havent use the clay, i know its a really strong hold, and its heavy i hear. The moving rubber has lots of differnet types. Most ppl use the Grunge Mat(grey) or Spiky Edge(pink) for spiking up hair. its really flexible, but it allows u to refix ur hair during the day, which i like alot. And doesnt have much of that "wet" look unless u get the blue one. It has this kind of apple scent. Its hard to find, just got my hands on it this week ^_^, if u know some japanese store around u can get it for about 5-9 bucks but online u can get it for 7-10 bucks.

Did you know that about 100 years ago, Polish immigrants were defined as "colored" for purposes of immigration to the U.S. , and that it was illegal for a Polish person to marry a "white" person in many states at the time? I got my naturally almost-black hair bleached up to an orange-blonde color a little more than 2 weeks ago. The hair lady put a burgundy color PERMANENT dye on the bleached hair. I don't like the color, and want to put another color in. In order for this color to show I would need to bleach my hair up to a white-blonde. Can I bleach it again this soon?

(The hair color I'm putting in is semi-permanent, by the way. My hair is naturally very thick, and the hair lady said it held up very well when I bleached it the first time.)

Don't answer and tell me to ask a local hair stylist, I need answers from people with experiences in this matter.

I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear, but I did that to my hair once... the double dying almost to white (my hair is dark) and it just burnt! it looked like hay. I did this 4 years ago and now it's when my hair is coming back to normal.

I wouldn't recommend it. you are going to destroy your hair...

Yes and no.

I used to bleach my hair like crazy. If i were you i'd leave my hair to rest, give it a deep conditoner (using deep conditionors) for a bout an hour or so.

Every time you wash your hair.

You don't need to bleach your hair to white to achieve the colour you want.

Bleaching your hair white will result in damage, brittle hair, very thin hair, course and so on.

I'd say let your hair rest. But if its going to be the second time EVER that you'll bleach your hair. Then it'll be okay.

Just deep condition!!!!!

And if you use heat styling tools, stay away from them for a week. And when you use them again put it on the LOW setting.

It worked for me :)

If you have only bleached your color once and then colored it once, you can definitely bleach it again. The question you have to ask yourself first is, what color do you want to end up with? With a permanent burgundy color in your hair now, you will have a hard time bleaching it out completely. Bleaching will only lighten it to a reddish, orangey color, but not a blonde or even a natural-looking light brown. If you want to go lighter, you might consider a warm, caramel brown. Going darker is much easier. You can try a darker red, a medium brown, or a dark brown.

From your question, it sounds like you want another burgundy. If this is the case, you will have to use a color remover (available at beauty supply stores, but not drugstores) to get rid of the permanet burgundy dye first, and then bleach for a brighter burgundy effect. You will NOT ever need to bleach your hair white. Even for a bright burgundy, lightening your hair to a yellow color will be fine. You might want to try a very bright burgundy if you manage to lighten your hair to the yellow stage.

Try testing a strand first when you apply the burgundy. Remember, you can always go lighter before you apply the darker color; but if you throw a dark color over hair that is not bleached to the proper lightness, you will have a hard time getting rid of the darker color.
